ABOUT THE GENOCIDE IN THE CHECHEN REPUBLIC

Defying the right of self-determination of nation recognized by all nations
of the United Nations, on the 11 of December of 1994 Russia begun the
military operations against the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria.
There are constantly more than one hundred thousands of Russian troops in
Chechenia.
Carrying out the aggression against
the independent country Russia committed the genocide and killed more than
250 thousand of Chechens, including 42 thousand children, completely ruined
towns and villages, destroyed historical and cultural inheritance, science,
social guarantees and health service, the economy and infrastructure of the
country. Russia damaged Chechenia amounted to USD 300 billion;
Russia ignores the Peace Treaty between Russia and
Chechenia signed on 12 May 1997 by president of the Russian Federation Boris
Yeltsin and president of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria Aslan Maskhadov.
Russia ignores norms of international law, denies decolonisation, it doesn’t
obey claims and recommendations of the United Nations about stoppage of
military actions and helping people in occupied countries.
The United Nations and the Organization for Security
and Co-operation in Europe as well as much of leaders of different countries
believe false information of Russian president that Russia fights in
Chechenia with terrorists. They do not try juridically and morally to
qualify 13th years genocide in Chechenia. Wy do you allow V.Putin to kill
people massively?
We ask you:
1. To qualify 13th years Russian policy of genocide in
Chechenia;
2. To solve the question of recognition the
independence of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria;
3. To demand of withdrawing Russian troops from the
Chechen Republic of Ichkeria.
During the Meeting of Defense ministers of NATO states in Vilnius the
Lithuanian Sąjūdis Vilnius City Council will carry out picket with reminding
of RUSSIAN GENOCIDE IN CHECHENIA.
